How is the Dreyfus Lion Account®
different from a Dreyfus mutual fund account?
A: While a Dreyfus mutual fund account allows you to
invest within the Dreyfus family of mutual funds, the Dreyfus Lion Account® gives you access and the flexibility to invest in more than
8,000 mutual funds many
with no transaction fees!1 from Dreyfus and
other leading mutual fund companies. The Dreyfus Lion Account® gives
you the opportunity to buy or sell stocks, bonds and options at
competitive commission rates.

Q:
How can I open a Dreyfus Lion Account®?
A: Opening a Dreyfus Lion Account® is easy and convenient. You
can establish a Dreyfus Lion Account® with a personal check, by transferring funds
from another financial institution, or you can transfer your existing
Dreyfus mutual fund account(s).
- Download an application from the Dreyfus Lion Account® forms page.
- Complete the application.
- Mail your signed application along with your initial deposit

- You will generally be able to begin investing within 24 hours
of receipt of your application and initial deposit.

I already have a Dreyfus mutual fund account. What
do I have to do to transfer to a Dreyfus Lion Account®?
A: Just complete the Dreyfus Lion Account® application.
In the "Investment Method" section, provide the information
regarding the Dreyfus mutual fund account(s) you want to transfer
to your new Dreyfus Lion Account®.

Q:
How can I transfer assets from another financial
institution into a Dreyfus Lion Account®?
A: To transfer securities or cash from another financial
institution, just complete the Dreyfus Lion Account® Transfer Form and attach your most recent statement.

Q:
What are the initial investment minimums?
A: Retirement accounts have an initial minimum requirement
of $1,000.
Assets can be in the form of a contribution, rollover from an employer-sponsored
plan or a transfer from an existing IRA at another financial institution.
Non-retirement accounts have an initial minimum requirement
of $10,000.
Asset management accounts (AMA) have an initial minimum requirement
of $10,000.

Q:
Must I maintain a minimum balance?
A: If assets fall below $10,000 in the three months
prior to the account anniversary opening date, a low balance fee
of $25.00 is charged during the month the account was established.

How can I view my account information online?
A: To activate your account for online viewing and
trading capabilities, contact your Dreyfus Advisor or a Dreyfus representative
at 1-800-THE-LION (1-800-843-5466). Once you have activated your
account you will be able to:
- View
stock holdings, cash and margin balances.
- Check the status of your orders.
- View two years of account transaction history.

A: Yes, the Lion IRA Account is an all-in-one retirement
account that makes it easy to manage your retirement money. It offers
you a wide variety of assets to choose from, access to mutual funds
from Dreyfus and other leading mutual fund companies in addition
to stocks, bonds and covered option writing. You can open a new
Lion IRA Account (Traditional or Roth) with a contribution or consolidate
multiple IRA accounts into one easy-to-manage account.

Q:
Does the Dreyfus Lion Account®
offer a "sweep" money market feature?
A: Yes. In fact, the "sweep" money market
fund is the core of your Dreyfus Lion Account®.
Deposits, including investment dividends and proceeds from any sale,
first go into your sweep money market fund. All proceeds in your
"sweep" money market earn interest daily, until they are
transferred as directed by you. You can access these funds automatically
when you write a check, use your debit card or use these liquid
assets to invest in mutual funds or individual securities. Other
withdrawals, such as bill payments or transaction fees, are also
deducted from this account.

A: Yes. If you qualify for margin5,
you can borrow up to 50% of the market value of most marginable
common stocks and up to 90% of the market value of U.S. Treasury
securities. Other securities have different borrowing limits. Please
read your Dreyfus Lion Account® Client Agreement and margin disclosure
for more information regarding margin lending.

A: Yes. With the Dreyfus Lion Account® Gold MasterCard
Debit Card, you can enjoy the conveniences of an ATM card
and checkbook all in one. Use it to access cash from your
"sweep" account (up to $1,000 per day subject to machine
and/or account authorization limits)6 or to check balances at any
ATM that displays the MasterCard or CIRRUS logo.7 You can also
use it for purchases at any of the locations accepting MasterCard
worldwide.

Q:
What type of account protection is available for Dreyfus Lion Account® clients?
A: You receive the highest level of account coverage
in the marketplace today unlimited account protection for the securities
and cash awaiting reinvestment held in custody by Pershing for your account.
The Securities Investor Protection Corporation (SIPC) provides the first
$500,000 of protection, no more than $100,000 of which may be in cash
awaiting reinvestment. Money market funds held in a brokerage account
are considered securities. The remaining protection is provided by a commercial
insurer. This account protection applies when member firms fail financially
and are unable to meet obligations to securities customers, but does not
protect against losses from the rise and fall in the market value of investments.
