Understanding Your Tax Forms   |   Form 1099-INT

Form 1099-INT is a record of TAX EXEMPT INCOME only, to be used for reporting exempt-income dividends you received from your Dreyfus tax-exempt investments. While this information is reported to the IRS, exempt-interest income may or may not impact your federal personal income tax return. It is recommended that you consult your tax advisor on how to properly report the information provided, as your individual tax reporting situation may require the guidance of a tax professional.

RECIPIENT'S NAME & ADDRESS
Your registration and mailing address. You are the recipient as owner of the account(s) listed on this form.

RECIPIENT'S IDENTIFICATION NUMBER
The number under which the distribution amounts have been reported to the IRS. For individuals, this is your Social Security Number.

FUND NAME & ACCOUNT NUMBER
The name and account number of the fund from which the exempt-interest distributions were paid.

(Box 1). INTEREST INCOME
Box 1 reports taxable interest paid to you during the calendar year. However, this box will not apply to you for 2009.

(Box 4). FEDERAL INCOME TAX WITHHELD
Box 4 reports federal income tax withheld, if any, from any dividend and distribution paid to you in 2009. This amount will either reduce the amount of tax you owe to the IRS or increase the amount the IRS will refund to you.

Should be entered on Form 1040, Page 2, Line 61.

(Box 8). TAX-EXEMPT INTEREST
Box 8 shows tax-exempt interest, including exempt-interest dividends for a mutual fund, or other regulated investment company, paid to you during the calendar year.

Should be entered on: Form 1040 (or Form 1040A), Line 8b.

(Box 9). SPECIFIC PRIVATE ACTIVITY BOND INTEREST
Box 9 shows tax-exempt interest that may be subject to the alternative minimum tax (AMT).This amount is also included in Box 8 on Form 1099-INT.
