The following applies to Massachusetts residents invested in Dreyfus/BNY Mellon Mutual Funds that distributed longterm capital gains in 2010. If you did not receive a long-term capital gain distribution in 2010, you can disregard this notice.

Special Instructions for Shareholders of:

          Dreyfus State Municipal Bond Funds, Dreyfus Massachusetts Fund
          BNY Mellon Funds Trust: BNY Mellon Massachusetts Intermediate Municipal Bond Fund

A portion of your Massachusetts State tax exempt bond Fund's 2010 capital gain distribution is attributable to net gain realized on the sale of certain Massachusetts Municipal Obligations which is exempt from Massachusetts personal income tax. To determine the non-exempt portion of your Fund's long-term capital gain distribution to be reported on Massachusetts, Schedule D, Line 5, use the following instructions:
