Information for Shareholders of the Former "Mellon Institutional Funds"

On December 1, 2008, the Mellon Institutional Funds were renamed and became part of the Dreyfus Family of Funds.

The consolidation of BNY Mellon Asset Management's mutual fund businesses under Dreyfus bolsters our already strong standing in the mutual fund industry. This consolidation gives you ready access to the lineup of over 180 Dreyfus mutual fund portfolios and allows you to take advantage of our deep mutual fund tradition, expertise and infrastructure.

While the investment adviser for the various Mellon Institutional Funds is now The Dreyfus Corporation ("Dreyfus"), the portfolio managers and research analysts for the funds have not changed, as they are now under a dual employee or sub-advisory relationship with Dreyfus.

Your online account information is now available through www.dreyfus.com. If you don't already have a user ID and password, you will need to create them now.

Investors should consider the investment objectives, risks, charges, and expenses of a fund carefully before investing. Download a prospectus that contains this and other information about a fund, and read it carefully before investing.

The Dreyfus Corporation serves as investment adviser to the Funds. Mellon Institutional portfolio managers manage certain Dreyfus-branded funds pursuant to a dual-employee arrangement, under Dreyfus' supervision, and apply their firm's proprietary investment process in managing the funds.
